Data security

Data security for your tax return

Tax data is sensitive. This page explains in plain language what happens to your details from the request form, who has access to them and how you submit documents securely.

The short answer

Your entries in the request form are transmitted in encrypted form and stored in our protected database. These entries cannot be read out, changed or deleted again via the website – all that is permitted there is creating a new request. The form deliberately does not accept receipt files.

You only send your actual tax documents once your specialist has contacted you personally and agreed the secure channel for this with you.

What happens technically when you submit the form

Encrypted transmission

The request form is transmitted over a TLS-secured connection. Your entries therefore never leave the browser in plain text.

Protected database

The requests are stored in our protected database. The website's public role is only permitted to create new entries.

No public read access

Existing requests cannot be read, changed or deleted via the website. There is no public read access to the stored details.

Internal access only

Only authorised persons entrusted with handling your request access the requests – for that purpose only and not for advertising.

To operate the website and the database we use technical service providers who process data on our behalf and according to our instructions. Details can be found in the privacy policy.

Our principles for handling your data

Purpose limitation

We use your details from the request form to answer your request, to determine the fixed price and to prepare the processing of your tax return. They are not used for any other purpose. The only exception: if you have allowed «Marketing» in the consent banner, we report the receipt of your request to Meta so that the effect of our advertising can be measured – contact details exclusively as a hash value and without your details about your tax situation.

Data minimisation

The form deliberately asks for only a few details: contact details, place of residence, canton and a brief description of your situation. We only collect sensitive tax details once they are really needed for processing.

No file uploads via the website

The request form deliberately does not accept receipt files. This way, no tax documents end up on a channel whose security we have not agreed with you.

Retention and deletion

We keep requests for as long as is necessary for processing and for statutory retention obligations. If you would like your request deleted, a short message to us is all it takes.

How to submit your documents

We do not need any receipts for the request. Once your specialist has contacted you, you discuss together which documents are needed and through which channel you will send them. Only then do you hand over salary certificates, bank statements or property documents.

If you are unsure whether a channel is suitable, just ask. An ordinary e-mail with unencrypted attachments is not the right channel for tax documents.

Important

Please do not send us tax documents unencrypted by ordinary e-mail and do not upload receipts to forms that are not intended for this.

What you can do yourself

  • Do not send receipts and documents unencrypted as attachments to an ordinary e-mail.
  • Wait for our personal reply – it sets out the agreed secure channel for sending your documents.
  • Only enter the details in the request form that are needed for our reply. We clarify the details in conversation.
  • Check that our domain appears in your browser's address bar before entering any data.
  • Never share login details for tax portals by e-mail or chat.
  • Keep your receipts for the tax year until the assessment is legally final.
